CNN pundit Paul Begala calls in at 7:06am to talk about the never-ending democratic presidential race.
George Takei calls in at 8:30am to talk about California legalizing gay marriage, and his pending marriage to his partner, Brad.
The two Dem presidential candidates were campaigning yesterday in Florida, but both had different goals. Hillary pushed for the D.N.C. to seat Florida’s delegates at the national convention, and Obama campaigned there with his eye on the general election in November.
Presumptive GOP nominee John McCain will meet this weekend with two governors (Bobby Jindal of Louisiana, and Charlie Crist of Florida) and a former rival (Mitt Romney). All three are long rumored to be on his vice presidential shortlist, but senior advisors insist the visit is just a social one.
The house overwhelmingly rejected president bush’s veto of a $290 billion farm bill yesterday, but what was to have been a stinging defeat for the President became an embarrassing episode for the Dems, who left an entire 34 page section out of the bill sent to the President for signing, which negated the veto override.
Grown-up rocker David Cook triumphed over smooth-voiced kid David Archuleta last night on the “American Idol” finals. Cook beat out Archuleta by 12 million votes, which came as a surprise to many.
