Aiming for a last-minute upset, John McCain embarked on a grueling odyssey through seven swing states this morning, including Florida, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Indiana, New Mexico, and Nevada before ending in Arizona. Obama is starting today in Florida before heading to events in North Carolina and Virginia.
Breaking with tradition, both McCain and Obama have planned to campaign on Election Day. McCain scheduled campaign stops in Colorado and New Mexico while Obama was set to make a quick trip to Indiana before returning to Chicago for a massive rally in Grant Park.
President Bush is urging Americans going to the polls tomorrow to remember that the U.S. election sets an example for budding democracies around the world. Bush cast an absentee ballot for John McCain last week.
Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) is mourning the death of his daughter today. A spokesman says Christine Durbin died in a D.C.-area hospital from complications relating to a congenital heart condition. She was 40.
