Rep. Diane Watson (D-CA), Steph’s congresswoman, calls in at 7:30am pacific to talk about the financial bailout and the election.

Rep. Brad miller (D-NC) calls in at 8:06am pacific to talk about the financial market bailout.

Susan Estrich calls in at 8:30am to talk about the election and tonight’s V.P. debate.

The Senate last night passed a sweeping and controversial financial bailout plan similar in key ways to one rejected by the House just two days earlier. It passed by a vote of 74 to 25.

World stock markets were mixed this morning as broader concerns about a global slowdown dampened relief over the Senate’s passage of the $700 billion bailout.

The CNN/Time Magazine/Opinion Research poll of likely voters in Florida, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, and Virginia suggests a shift toward Barack Obama. In Florida, 51% of likely voters say Obama is their choice, while 47% back McCain.

Sarah Palin is heading into her debate with Joe Biden tonight, easily the most anticipated vice presidential debate in history.
