John McCain said yesterday that Barack Obama’s foreign policy positions could encourage America’s enemies to test it during the early days of an Obama administration. He said the thing that may encourage them is that Obama has been wrong about the surge in Iraq.

At a rally in Richmond, VA yesterday, Barack Obama told a crowd that a president John McCain would pose a national security risk by continuing the policies that have put our economy into crisis and endangered our national security.

Barack Obama has held or increased his leads in 4 key states won by President Bush in 2004 – Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, and Virginia – while losing ground in West Virginia, according to the latest series of Time / CNN battleground state polls. Obama gained the most ground in N.C., where he leads McCain by 51% to 47%.

The Philadelphia Phillies beat the Tampa Bay Devil Rays 3 to 2 in last night’s World Series opener.
