Attorney General Michael Mukasey collapsed while giving a speech last night in D.C. he had been giving a spirited defense of the Bush administration’s legal policies when his speech began to slur and he lost track of his thoughts. Seconds later, he became rigid and began to slump. He was rushed to the hospital, where he later told jokes and was ready to go home.

According to ABC News, President-Elect Obama is on track to nominate Hillary Clinton as his Secretary of State after Thanksgiving. Apparently, former President Bill Clinton’s financial disclosure issues that once seemed an obstacle to her appointment have been worked out.

According to the Minnesota Secretary of State’s office, 15.49% of the more than 2.9 million votes cast in their Senate election were recounted yesterday. It appears that Al Franken has made a dent of 43 votes into Coleman’s lead of 215. The recount is expected to extend well into December.

Rahm Emanuel, President-Elect Obama’s Chief of Staff, met with GOP leaders on Capitol Hill yesterday, saying “we welcome their ideas and their concepts.

Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid announced yesterday that there will be no more hearings before Thanksgiving on an auto industry bailout and that the companies should present a detailed plan on how they will use taxpayer money to become viable again.
