Neil Giuliano, president of The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) calls in at 8:05am to talk about Pastor Rick Warren giving the invocation at Obama’s inauguration.

The Bush administration is convinced the ailing economy could not withstand the demise of Detroit’s Big Three and is looking at “orderly” bankruptcy to keep the automakers from collapsing. A White House decision on helping the industry could come as early as today.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) urged the president to act with some urgency on the auto maker crisis. She reminded Bush that the nation can’t afford to add to the currently high unemployment rolls that are already zooming at a record setting pace.

President-elect Obama will likely chose Rep. Hilda Solis (D-CA) as Labor Secretary. Solis is currently serving out her 4th term in the U.S. House. She was the first Latina appointed to the committee on Energy and Commerce.

Mark Felt, the former FBI second-in-command who revealed himself in 2005 as “Deep Throat” 30 years after Watergate, has died. He was 95.
