  1. I’d like to suggest that Thom or Ron Reagon feature a discussion with Judie Mancuso of Social Compassion in Legislation, a California based compassion group trying to end euthanasia of adoptable dogs and cats in California. California euthanizes upwards of 500,000 animals. In Washington, we kill an estimated 100,000 animals. If California passes the Pet Responsibility Act, it will help us do something similar here as well as other states.

  2. Why haven’t we declared war on the insurance companies?

let’s go to our local district attorney’s office and charge united healthcare with negligent homicide when someone dies because of their refusal to cover or honor coverage. let’s charge them with depraved indifference when they refuse to help someone who has paid for their assistance. on a massive scale this will break them. the government has the resources to break them.

let’s boycott the number one healthcare insurance company in the state. if we can get the same participation we’re getting with this current struggle, it will be a slap so hard, they would have to respond to the will of their consumers even if only temporarily.

let’s use our state and local officials to build statewide coalitions of people who are pissed off with insurance companies. let’s force those officials to create healthcare unions. United, we are stronger than these companies, and we can break them.

let’s go to the health care provider with the least political influence in the state and get local and state officials to cut a deal with that company that brings the majority of coverage in the state to that company. Then lets use our influence with that company to get us as close to Single Payer as possible.

we have to start looking at the insurance providers in our country as enemies in a war for our resources . they’ve been looking at us that way for years.
